The cell of the scalp turns over, just as all others areas of the skin. This is a natural and normal occurrence. When the process of shedding these cells increases, the shedding becomes noticeable. Sometimes these shedding scalp cells cause itching which causes the person to scratch, loosening more scales and increasing the visibility of the dandruff.
Hormonal changes, excessive shampooing or changes in the weather have all been blamed for dandruff. Acute emotional distress and unrelieved anxiety can also contribute to the condition.
- Relieve the stress and anxiety in your life. Simple dandruff may be a signal from your body that you need to slow down and get more rest.
- Avoid fired foods, dairy products, sugar chocolate and nuts, which contribute to the greasy condition of the scalp, the forerunner of dandruff.
- Being by applying the undiluted juice of several lemons directly to the scalp. Wash the hair and scalp with a mild shampoo, such as one recommended for babies, and then rinse thoroughly. Follow this rinse with another made from a mixture of lemon juice and water. Repeats this treatment daily until the dandruff is gone.
