INSECT STINGS SOLUTION

Those pesky bugs buzzing around your head and sometimes landing on your skin, biting and accusing itching and reddened skin. Most insect sting simply itches and produces a small welt that disappears in few days.

Bees, wasps, hornets and ants causes an allergic reaction in some sensitive individuals.

These allergic reactions are often severe and sometimes fatal. The symptoms are difficulty in swallowing, hoarseness, labored breathing, weakness, severe swelling and feeling of impending doom.

  • For ant, mosquito, midge and flea bites, wash the area thoroughly with soap and water and apply a paste made of baking soda and water, or a little dab of toothpaste.
  • Ticks should be removed immediately with tweezers:
  • Calamine lotion can aid in relieving itching, as can a poultice of corn flour and witch – hazel.
  • Wear plain, light-colored clothing avoid clothing that appears flowery. Insects can be attracted to perfume, hairspray and shiny jewellery.
  • Avoid alcohol as this causes the blood vessels to dilate, bringing more blood to the surface and attracting, mosquitoes and some flies.
