Something is rubbing you the wrong way and you don’t like it at all. Collars of your neck, your thighs rub together when you walk. Not only does chafing leave you with painful skin, these abrasions increase the likelihood of an infection because they create a break in the skin, so they should not be treated lightly.
- Change to 100 per cent cotton clothing, particularly if you have extreme sensitive skin.
- If some fabric chafes, even after the first washing, get rid of it.
- Petroleum jelly or talcum powder between your thighs, under yours arms, any place that chafing is troublesome, will lubricate the area and make fabric glide over the area.
- If chafing has resulted from some particular exercise such as running, change your activity until the area heals.
